The How to Train Your Dragon live-action movie will be released on June 13, 2025.

The live-action version of How to Train Your Dragon is the adaptation of the animated movie made under DreamWorks Animation back in 2010. Directed by Dean DeBlois, the story is set on the fictional island of Berk where our protagonist Hiccup is trying to be a true Viking and gain his father’s respect. As the story goes, Hiccup strikes down a Night Fury with his tactical maneuvers and ventures out to kill him.

Things turn upside down for Hiccup as he meets the Night Fury, a rare species of dragon in the movies, one that is deemed highly dangerous. On meeting the dragon, Hiccup realized that humans were wrong and dragons were not the vicious beasts they believed them to be. Naming the dragon Toothless, Hiccup befriended the Night Fury, thus starting his journey of bringing humans and dragons together as allies rather than enemies. The animated version of the movie had three parts, the first one being How to Train Your Dragon (2010), followed by How to Train Your Dragon 2 (2014), and How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World (2019).
