Nick Cannon, who has twelve children, recently opened up about his view on the usage of the term "co-parenting." According to People Magazine, in his discussion on the Nick Cannon @ Night podcast, the TV show host added that he has always had a problem with the term "co-parenting," and said:
"[I] always kind of had an issue [with the term] co-parenting, adding that "parenting" is the term that he always prefers to use."
Nick Cannon shares his twelve with six different women, one of them being Mariah Carry, to whom he was married from 2008 until their divorce in 2016. In a 2022 interview with People Magazine, Canon had previously opened up about being a father to multiple children from different relationships, but added that he still gets excited about everything involving his children. He said:
"Every day I just wake up excited as a father. I'm so excited about all my kids. Constantly, from every aspect of it. From them getting citizen of the month awards in the first grade to the birth of the new ones."
More about Nick Cannon's recent take on the word "co-parenting"
Nick Cannon, who hosts the Nick Cannon @ Night podcast on Wondery, had previously requested that fans ask him questions that they have always wanted to know. One fan had asked Nick Cannon for his perspective on better managing coparenting relationships. The fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter), and said:
"Curious to hear Nick's perspective on managing multiple co-parenting relationships while dating. It's a unique situation that could offer some real insights for blended families."
To this question, Cannon further added that he does not like the term, as he thinks using labels like that causes more harm than good. He said:
"When you start throwing labels on things, I think it does more harm than help and can get very dangerous, because then everybody else has a preconceived notion of what you're doing."
He further added:
"I haven't figured it out yet. I haven't gotten it all the way right. But also to your point, if I just step into every situation with respect and compassion and individuality. That's the other thing I always do with anyone I'm involved with in my life."
Cannon also talked about the woman he shares his twelve children with, saying that not all of them get along with each other, and he therefore does not try to group them. He said:
"No! Do you know six women anywhere that get along?"
He added:
"I don't bunch them together. I really try my hardest not to be like, 'Oh yeah, my baby mamas', you know, unless I'm telling a joke or something like that, but no one wants to be grouped into anything. Everyone wants to be treated like an individual with respect and compassion."
In 2022, Nick Cannon welcomed his twelfth child, daughter Halo Marie, with model Alyssa Scott, following the death of his five-month-old son, Zen, who had passed away earlier that year from cancer.
