Wendy Williams was spotted in New York City over the weekend, days after new reports surfaced about her dementia and aphasia diagnoses. According to Page Six, the former talk show host arrived arm-in-arm with restaurateur Max Tucci.

Outside Tucci’s restaurant, Williams told Page Six that her attorneys were “highly upset” over recent coverage of her health. Previously, during the week, People reported, citing legal documents, that Williams’ test results confirmed frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and aphasia.

The TV personality, however, had previously denied facing mental health issues. When asked if she had a message for her court-appointed conservator, Williams responded,

“I want to say hi to my attorneys, Allan Diamond and Joe Tacopina.”

She then shared firmly,

“And I will get out of guardianship.”

A source also told Page Six that Williams had not received confirmation that the test results were accurate.

Wendy Williams’ guardianship remained in place after her medical examination was finalized, according to People. Legal filings demonstrated that Williams completed extensive evaluations, which included multiple medical and neuropsychological tests as well as brain imaging. Doctors had since reached an opinion about her neurological condition, though the specific findings were not disclosed in the documents.

Sources familiar with the case told People that Williams had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and aphasia, conditions she was first said to have in 2023. The filings also revealed that Sabrina Morrissey’s attorney sought to extend the current stay until November 3. The extension would allow Judge Sokoloff, who was presiding over a related guardianship case, additional time to rule on whether Morrissey should remain as guardian and whether Williams required continued supervision.

The attorney further noted that the case had grown more complicated, as lawyers for Williams’ relatives, her former husband, and other parties indicated plans to contest the guardianship and Morrissey’s authority.

Wendy Williams’ legal team pushed back against newly leaked reports claiming the former talk show host had been re-diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia. Her attorney, Joe Tacopina, dismissed the claims as “false” and argued they were part of a larger attempt to keep Williams under a restrictive guardianship.

In comments to TMZ, Tacopina demanded proof of the alleged diagnosis. He stated,

“Where is the actual medical report supporting this leak? And who is the doctor willing to go under oath and face cross-examination so the truth can be exposed?”

Joe Tacopina noted that neither he nor Wendy Williams had seen the supposed medical file. He suggested the information may have been circulated strategically to maintain control over Williams’ personal and financial affairs.

People reported that Wendy Williams was removed from her assisted living residence on March 10 and taken to a hospital by New York police. The following day, she appeared by phone on Good Day New York, where she shared that she had recently completed mental competency tests tied to her 2023 dementia diagnosis. Williams told viewers she had been accused of being “cognitively impaired”.

“I passed with flying colors!” she declared, before asking her caretaker, Ginalia Monterrosa, to expand on her account.

“She had those tests, she’s been deemed she is not incapacitated, I think it’s great news, and it’s public, and everybody knows factually that Wendy’s not incapacitated.”

Pressed by Scotto on whether she was pleased with the independent review of her psychological health, Williams replied with emphasis:

“Absolutely. That is what I want, and that is what I got.”

Wendy Williams' mental competency has remained central to her ongoing legal disputes.
