''LOL WTF… when was that announced and by who? That’s funny , appreciate the concerns but this Shxt ain’t over yet.''

More about Odell Beckham Jr.'s viral NFL retirement rumor
On Tuesday, August 12, 2025, a parody account made a post on X (formerly Twitter), along with a picture of Odell and his son, Zydn Beckham, sitting outside MetLife Stadium, and wrote:
''After 10 seasons in the NFL, Odell Beckham Jr. has decided to retire. Beckham Jr. played for the Giants, Browns, Rams, Ravens, and Dolphins. He announced Tuesday.''
The post went viral, with many fans believing it and congratulating Beckham, which is why he had to post multiple times to clarify that it wasn’t true. Some fans questioned the credibility of the information, while others dismissed it as a rumor. Beckham then addressed the news as false and also made a second tweet, in which he wrote:
''Not done yet… thanks for hr concerns and have a blessed day.''
The viral tweet was a result of a parody account pretending to be ESPN reporter Adam Schefter, which made it look credible at first, since his release from the Miami Dolphins in December 2024. Odell is not signed with any team as of yet and remains a free agent.
As per AthlonSports, Beckhem is venturing beyond the field, solidified by the launch of “FRI&NDS,” a cultural, content, and events platform earlier this year. It debuted in New Orleans during Super Bowl week.
Some of Beckhem's significant career achievements include a Super Bowl Champion (LVI), where he won with the Los Angeles Rams in 2022, the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2014, and the 3× Pro Bowl Selection, where he was recognized as one of the league’s best wide receivers for three consecutive seasons, and 2× Second-team All-Pro, where he was named one of the NFL’s top wideouts.
Currently, he is still an active NFL free agent, and with the recent viral post, he made it clear that he’s not stepping away from football.
