The Doobie Brothers are officially back on the road. They are bringing a new album with them.
On Monday, August 4, 2025, the Rock & Roll Hall of Famers kicked off the North American leg of their Walk This Road tour in Detroit, Michigan. The tour celebrates their latest album of the same name. It was released in June 2025 and marks the return of Michael McDonald to the studio for the first time since 1980.
Jimmy Buffett's Coral Reefer Band is joining The Doobie Brothers on this run. They are touring for the first time since Buffett's passing in 2023. Together, the two beloved acts are delivering a memorable musical experience built on decades of hits.
The Doobie Brothers first came on the scene in the early 1970s. Over the years, they have created a catalog of beloved tracks like "Listen to the Music," "China Grove," "What a Fool Believes," and "Takin' It to the Streets." The band's lineup has also shifted over the decades. However, in 2025, core members Tom Johnston, Patrick Simmons, John McFee, and Michael McDonald are all on board.
Their reunion album, Walk This Road, features guest spots from artists like Mavis Staples and Mick Fleetwood. The record was produced by John Shanks. It's The Doobie Brothers' first new record in years.
