Taylor Swift has officially dispelled one of the more unusual fan theories circulating on the internet.

Appearing on the New Heights podcast with Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce on August 13, the 35-year-old superstar was asked about speculation that she secretly played the bear in Happy Gilmore 2.

Jason pressed her to “confirm or deny,” to which Taylor Swift immediately responded:

“I can deny!”

She went on to explain how the rumor has become a running joke in her conversations with Travis Kelce.

“This is one of those ones where, like, we'll send it to each other and be like, 'Hey, did you hear I was the bear in there?' And he’s like, 'Yeah, did you hear we bought a house in Lake Como?' At this point, we're just like, of course, they think I'm inside of a bear costume."

While denying the cameo, Taylor Swift admitted she was flattered by the thought, and even praised the bear for its "exquisite" acting.

“I’m honored to be thought of in that context because I loved that movie so much. I watched it multiple times. I loved it so much."

The pop star has openly supported the Netflix sequel since its release on July 25. She shared her reaction on Instagram Stories, writing:

“Happy Gilmore 2 had me cackling and cheering the whole movie. An absolute must-watch. 13/10, go watch it on @netflix as soon as humanly possible.”

Taylor Swift announces 12th album The Life of a Showgirl

Meanwhile, beyond the movie buzz, Taylor Swift also used the podcast appearance to make a major announcement.

In a teaser clip posted a day before the episode, she revealed the title of her upcoming 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl.

Opening a mint-green briefcase with her initials on it, she told Jason:

“This is my brand new album, 'The Life of a Showgirl.'”

Travis Kelce chimed in and celebrated the reveal with an excited:

“TS 12!”

According to the songstress, The Life of a Showgirl came to fruition after drawing inspiration from the happiness she felt from her Eras Tour.

“This album is about what was going on behind the scenes of my inner life during this tour, which was so exuberant and electric and vibrant. It just comes from the most infectiously joyful, wild, dramatic place I was in in my life, and so that effervesence has come through on this record. And like you said, bangers."

Taylor Swift also revealed that the forthcoming album will contain 12 tracks, and also unveiled the album covers on her website while the program aired.

In an Instagram post, the songstress revealed that she co-produced the new project with Shellback and Max Martin, writing:

“And, baby, that’s show business for you. New album The Life of a Showgirl. Out October 3."
