Better Call Saul is regarded as one of the best legal crime dramas. It is the prequel series of Breaking Bad and tells the story of Bob Odenkirk’s character, Saul Goodman, and how he transformed from Jimmy McGill to Saul.

The series premiered in 2015 and ran for six seasons, winning numerous accolades, including several Emmy nominations. Recently, during his interview with Today, Odenkirk talked about a Better Call Saul reboot. He shared that if Peter Gould and Vince Gilligan, the creators of the spinoff series, came up with something, he would be ready to do it.

He said,

"Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould created that show. There are some of the best writers who ever worked in TV. If they were to think of something in that world, of course I would do it."

More on this in our story.

Better Call Saul: Bob Odenkirk is ready to reprise his role in a potential reboot

Bob Odenkirk’s character, Saul Goodman, was first introduced in the second season of Breaking Bad, in Episode 8, titled Better Call Saul. He later got his own spinoff series, where the viewers learned how Jimmy McGill became the crooked lawyer, Saul Goodman.

After six seasons, the spinoff series ended with Odenkirk’s character in prison in the episode titled Saul Gone. He was sentenced to 86 years in prison after he confessed to his crimes of being involved in his brother’s death and to helping Walter White’s (Bryan Cranston) drug operation.

In the interview, he shared that if there were a reboot of Better Call Saul, it would focus on Saul’s life in prison. He shared,

"He’s not getting out (of prison). If there’s another Saul show, it takes place inside prison."

He praised the creators and the show that changed his life for good and revealed he would definitely reprise his role if a reboot were in the works. He stated,

"That part turned my life around, and I’ve given more to that part than anything I’ve done."

While the actor shared that he was ready to be a part of a Better Call Saul reboot series, he also acknowledged that the chances of a reboot series were next to impossible right now. He shared that everyone has moved on and is making new and better projects.

He shared,

"But I don’t think so. I think they’ve all moved on to some more amazing projects that you’ll soon see."

More about Better Call Saul

While he is skeptical of a reboot of the series, in a CBR interview, he shared about what life would be like for Jimmy or Saul behind bars.

He shared,

"He's got some he's got some power there, because he's a lawyer and he can talk to people, and he has a reputation. I think he's as doing as good as you can do in prison. Yeah. I think."

Apart from Bob Odenkirk, the series also includes Rhea Seehorn, Jonathan Banks, Michael Mando, and Patrick Fabian, among many others.
