Bill Chott and Sean Whalen both to return in Wizards Beyond Waverly Place Season 2

Wizards Beyond Waverly Place season 2 is arriving soon, and many guest stars will be with it. While several new characters are going to be seen in the second season, some characters from the original show, Wizards of Waverly Place, are also coming back.

Bill Chott and Sean Whalen played Mr. Herschel Laritate and Mantooth, respectively, in Wizards of Waverly Place. These two actors are going to be reprising their roles in season 2 of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place.

Wizards Beyond Waverly Place season two cast features members from the original show

Wizards Beyond Waverly Place is the spin-off of the Disney Channel classic Wizards of Waverly Place, which aired from 2007 to 2012. The show followed the Russo family, where the father, Jerry (played by David DeLuise), used to be a wizard, and the two children, Justin (played by David Henrie) and Alex (played by Selena Gomez), are wizards in training.

The show was widely popular during its run, which is why a spin-off of the show set fifteen years later, featuring a grown-up Justin, leading a normal life with his wife and children, until he is entrusted with training a young wizard, Billie (played by Janice LeAnn Brown), by his sister Alex.

Season one of the spin-off came out in 2024, and the teaser for season two has just been released by Disney Channel. The synopsis for the second season, according to the teaser's YouTube description, reads,

The Russo magic lives on! In Season 2 of “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place,” Billie grapples with the fact that being part of the Russo family might be more complicated than she thought —especially now that she's not the only wizard in the house. Thanks to Roman and Milo’s new magical powers, Justin is now tasked with training three young wizards for the Family Wizard Competition. As the stakes rise inside and outside the family, a mysterious new threat emerges, one that could unravel the Russos forever.

Season two will be released on September 12, 2025, on the Disney Channel, and all the episodes will be available for streaming on Disney+ from 8th October 2025. The cast for season two includes David Henrie as Justin Russo, Janice LeAnn Brown as Billie, Alkaio Thiele as Roman Russo, Max Matenko as Milo Russo, Taylor Cora as Winter, and Mimi Gianopulos as Giada Russo.

The new cast members joining Wizards Beyond Waverly Place season two are Freya Skye as Piper, Harvey Guillén as Gossip Stone, Recker Eans as Quentin, Eleanor Sweeney as Bella Bianchi, Kirsten Vangsness as Bigelow McFigglehorn, Tobias Jelinek as Lord Morsus, and Patrick Bristow as Wiz M.D.

If you watched Wizards of Waverly Place, you'll remember Mr. Herschel Laritate (played by Bill Chott) and Mantooth (played by Sean Whalen). Both of these characters are going to return in the second season of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. Bill Chott and Sean Whalen are going to be reprising their roles, and so will be Amanda Tepe, who has played multiple roles in the original show. Selena Gomez is going to guest star as Alex Russo in the second season as well.

Season two of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place premieres on the Disney Channel on September 12, 2025, and all episodes will be available on Disney+ from 8th October 2025.
