The Property Brothers are now exploring a brand new venture with a new reality TV show, Chasing the West. Drew and Jonathan Scott star in the upcoming show, slated to drop on July 30, which will have them share their experience in the real estate industry.
With this new HGTV show, the Scott brothers, who were brought up on a ranch, will help urban families escape the big city lifestyle and discover the ranch way of living. Per IMDb, the synopsis of the show is:
Ranch-raised brothers guide city families exploring ranch life, teaching livestock care, farming and adjusting to rural rhythms across Arizona, California and Texas landscapes.
On the show, the participating families will get to experience the ups and downs of living on the ranch, and adapt to a lifestyle that is perceived to be slower than what they are used to.
The cast will be required to tend livestock and grow their produce, under the guidance of Drew and Jonathan.
HGTV explains,
"The eight-episode series will highlight sprawling landscapes in Arizona, California, and Texas. We'll also get to watch our favorite duo revisit some ranch-inspired activities like horseback riding, off-roading in ATVs, and the art of lassoing (!). With Scott's help, each set of buyers will feel more prepared to live out their Wild West fantasy lives."
Chasing the West - Release Date
Chasing the West Season 1 is scheduled to release on July 30, 2025. The episodes will start airing weekly on HGTV on Thursdays at 9 pm Eastern Time.
Drew says that he and his brother Jonathan have had a great time growing up on a ranch, amidst the most beautiful country scenes.
However, with Chasing the West they hope to change the lives of many homeowners living in the suburbs who want to realize their dream of living and raising their kids on a farm. Jonathan added,
"The lessons we’ve learned and our passion for the ways of the West made us who we are, and we wouldn’t trade it for the world."
Chasing the West - Cast
Throughout Chasing the West, the Property Brothers will have a diverse selection of clients who may or may not like the way that ranch owners live.
\Revealing what the viewers could expect from the upcoming episodes, HGTV revealed that the first episode will have a couple from Texas. They are both business owners but wish to expand their horizons and buy a significant plot of land where:
"they can enjoy the spoils from their years of hard work."
It could be a pivotal moment in their lives to experience this kind of living, and, thus, it would be interesting to see how things turn out for them.
However, to balance things out, the show will also feature a couple who might realise that country living is not their cup of tea and seek newer challenges. This couple, the network reveals, is from the Hollywood film industry and is now searching for their first home. However, living on a farm might not be for them.
