Limitless Season 2, called Limitless: Live Better Now, was just released on Disney+ on August 15, 2025. The show follows Chris Hemsworth as he takes on challenges and becomes a part of experiments that help him discover more ways to stay healthy as he ages.

Hemsworth has done this before in season one as well, but as Express UK reports, he did not want to return for a Limitless Season 2.

Chris Hemsworth was hesitant about returning to Limitless Season 2

Doing a show like Limitless is no easy feat. The first season included extreme physical and mental challenges taken by Chris Hemsworth to live and promote a better life. While he was assisted by experts, it was a dangerous job for the actor.

As Express UK reported, Hemsworth spoke about returning for Limitless Season 2, saying,

"I didn't initially. The first season almost killed me emotionally and physically, whether that's by design or intention."
"But in the aftermath after the show had aired, I was at my kids' school and their friends were coming up and talking about what they'd received from the show or their parents and grandparents."

Despite the toll the show took on him, Hemsworth soon realized the positive effect the show had on the audience. Everyone wants to live a better life, and if Chris Hemsworth is showing you how, it is bound to leave an impression.

Hemsworth explained the show's effect on audiences, further saying,

"The sort of spectrum of age groups and demographics and so on, from different areas and countries, all around the world who had received some sort of knowledge and new direction or path to pursue to [achieve] the best version of themselves."

It was evident that the show was a success. It had left a mark, inspired people, and met the goal it set out to meet. Thus, the best decision would've been to make a second season. But as Hemsworth mentioned, the first season was exhausting, and the actor was highly reluctant about coming back. But he did return for Limitless Season 2 after a few changes were made.

Hemsworth revealed,

"So we discussed if we would do a second season, what would we tackle, what could be expanded on that had been touched upon in the first one."

Chris Hemsworth explained the difference between season one and two, saying,

"In the first season, I was very much a guinea pig. I was thrown into a situation with very little knowledge about what I was doing."

He continued,

"This was more experimental journalism I guess. I had more agency in the production and creation of where we were going to head."
"It was personal to me in different ways and things I want to investigate."

Thus, a second season was made, this time with some much-needed changes, as Hemsworth had more of a say and could explore things he did not have the opportunity to in season one. But that doesn't mean season two was easy. Even during Limitless Season 2, the actor was doing things he had never done. Hemsworth said,

"And throughout the second season I kept asking the same question, 'What the hell am I doing?'"

For a show like Limitless, every new challenge is going to seem bizarre; that's just how the show is meant to be. But at the end of the day, it motivates people to live better.

Both seasons of Limitless are streaming on Disney+.
