Created by Eric Kripke, Supernatural, is a fantasy and adventures series that featured Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, and others. The show aired for 15 seasons from 2005 to 2020 and was one of the most popular shows at the time of its airing.

The adventures of the brothers Sam Winchester (Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Ackles), were loved by many as the duo hunted demons, monsters, and other supernatural beings.

Even though Supernatural was one of the longest-running live-action fantasy TV series, it still gained the love and affection of thousands of viewers, who watched the show religiously and still keep the show alive in pop culture.

At the recently held Fan Expo Boston, actor Jared Padalecki spoke about a reboot of the show which fans have been craving since the series last aired 5 years ago.

Even though Supernatural is now over, the show’s charm and cast members like Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins, and Jared Padalecki, have kept the magic alive by attending fan conventions. At the recently held Fan Expo Boston, Padalecki was faced with the obvious and unanimous question of whether the much-loved show will be back as a revival or reboot and the actor had something to say.

As the panel’s moderator Victor Dandridge posed the question about something happening in the future that could be related to the famous fantasy series, actor Padalecki mentioned that,

“I’m so proud of what the show, what we were able to do in 15 short years…I would absolutely love to ride again. We’d need some hair dye for our beards. They’re a little salt and peppery now, but I’d love to get back in that car, roll cameras, and have Dean (Ackles) call me Sam again.”

Therefore, the actor is extremely interested in a revival of the show and his statement has given hopes to the die-hard fans of the show who want the brotherly duo back in screen.

Padalecki’s sentiments about the show's revival at the Fan Expo Boston bring back memories of when the actor stated during an interview with Tommy DiDario in his podcast, about what he exactly wants from a reboot.

The actor mentioned that, “I don’t want to do another 15 years of Supernatural…I am dying to do a reboot... Akin to the Gilmore Girls reboot. Here are four one and a half hour episodes. We’ll shoot it in three months…Jensen and I both said in 2020, ‘We’d love to revisit these characters, this world…I think he and I are both really eager to do it.”

Interestingly, even though there was a spinoff of the show titled, The Winchesters, which portrayed the story of Sam and Dean’s parents, Mary and John, it did not go past one season.

However, Padalecki’s repeated statements about a revival has given hope to fans.

The show is available on Amazon Prime Video.
