Schitt's Creek cast and character guide

Eugene Levy as Johnny Rose

Eugene Levy's Johnny Rose is the steady patriarch who guides his family through the chaos. Once the polished mogul, Johnny arrives in Schitt's Creek with nothing but suits, optimism, and his dysfunctional family. What makes him compelling isn't his fall from grace but his resilience.

Among the several accolades, Levy also won the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his role in Schitt's Creek. He's also the co-creator and executive producer of the series. Some of his notable works are: A Mighty Wind, Only Murders in the Building, Summer Camp, Best in Show, and American Pie.

Dan Levy as David Rose

Dan Levy plays David Rose in Schitt's Creek, and he's nothing less than an icon wrapped in exquisite sarcasm. His dry wit hides his insecurity, and the character arc is commendable. From a cynic to a vulnerable and expressive partner, David's journey is anchored by his romance with Patrick Brewer. Their love story is one of the fan favorite plots of the series.

Along with his father Eugene, he also serves as a co-creator and executive producer of Schitt's Creek. He's not just a remarkable actor but also an Emmy-winning producer, creator, and director. He's been a part of several projects, including Happiest Season, Admission, Sex Education, Haunted Mansion, and his cameo in Modern Family.

Catherine O'Hara as Moira Rose

Catherine O'Hara's Moira Rose is nothing short of a TV icon. Moira Rose, the wife of Johnny Rose, is a former opera star and the mother of David and Alexis. Her devotion to her family, particularly in moments when the spotlight fades, proves that she is more than her extravagant look. She won a Primetime Emmy Award for her Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.

Some of her recent projects include The Studis, The Last of Us, and Argylle, to name a few.

Annie Murphy as Alexis Rose

Annie Murphy plays Alexis Rose in Schitt's Creek. Initially, she appears as a spoiled rich kid, but her character evolves throughout the series. Between questionable romances, unexpected career paths, and her iconic A Little Bit Alexis moment, she becomes independent and wise. By the finale, Alexis isn't just the sibling with funny anecdotes about celebrity escapades- she's a woman who can firmly stand her ground.

Some of Annie Murphy's notable works include Nine Perfect Strangers, Fingernails, The Plateaus, and Black Mirror.

Noah Reid as Patrick Brewer

Noah Reid joined Schitt's Creek Season 3 as Patrick Brewer, David's love interest. He's steady, grounded, and patient, almost a perfect balance to David's chaotic energy. Apart from being an actor, Reid is also an award-winning musician, voice artist, and theatre performer. Some of his notable works include Outer Range, Kevin From Work, and The Archivists.

Emily Hampshire as Stevie Budd

Emily Hampshire plays Stevie Budd, the motel's clerk. Her sharp one-liners and carefree attitude make her an unforgettable character. Throughout the series, she grows to be the grounding force for the Roses.

Born in 1981, the 43-year-old Canadian actress and voice artist is well known for her roles in 12 Monkeys as Jennifer Goines and Rose Mason in The Rig. Some of her other works include Mom, Humane, Snow Cake, and Cosmopolis, to name a few.

Supporting cast members of Schitt's Creek

  • Dustin Milligan as Ted Mullens: Schitt's Creek's vet and Alexis's love interest, while they do not end up together, their relationship was one of the fan favorites. Milligan was nominated for the Canadian Screen Awards for Best Supporting Actor in Comedy for his role as Ted. Some of his notable projects include A Simple Favor, Extract, The Move, Shell, and FUBAR.
  • Chris Elliott as Roland Schitt: Elliott played Roland Schitt, the town's dedicated and helpful mayor. However, there's also a subtle hint of jealousy between him and the Roses, but he turned out to be a good advisor to Johnny.
  • Jennifer Roverston as Jocelyn Schitt: Robertson played Jocelyn, Roland's wife, teacher, and the leader of the Jazzagals. Her kind and helpful attitude made her quite close to Moira, and they became good friends.
  • Tim Rozon as Mutt Schitt: Roland and Jocelyn's estranged oldest son and one of Alexis' initial love interests. He was introduced in the first season; however, due to his involvement in a different project (Wynonna Earp), his character was absent primarily after two seasons. However, he did briefly reappear in Season 4. Some of his projects include Protectors of the Land, We Were Liars, SurrealEstate, and Hunting Grounds, to name a few.
  • Sarah Levy as Twyla Sands: Twyla Sands, the waitress at Cafe Tropical, and a close friend of Alexis, who won a million-dollar lottery and kept it a secret because she knew that the Roses' and Schitt's Creek would be able to survive without her help. In reality, Sarah is Eugene's daughter and Dan's sister, and she has been a part of several projects, including SurrealEstate, The Monkey, The Holiday Shift, and All Rise.
  • John Hemphill as Bob Currie: The town's local mechanic and a member of the town council, Bob Currie is kind and funny.
  • Karen Robinson as Ronnie Lee: Ronnie is the no-nonsense town's counselor, a member of Jazzagals, and a good friend of the Roses. Some of Robinson's work includes The Calling and A Million Little Things.
