Veteran actress Sharon Stone has just shared a poignant and heartfelt statement about her longtime friend Eric Dane and his role in Euphoria.
Created by Sam Levinson, Euphoria is a psychological teen drama series that is also written by Levinson. Starring Zendaya, Angus Cloud, Sydney Sweeney, and others, the hit drama series is based on the Israeli miniseries of the same name.
The series primarily revolves around Rue Bennett (Zendaya), who is a teenager with a drug addiction. The show is shown from her point of view as she tries to get sober and adjust to friends and relationships after rehab.
The show has two seasons till now, and it immediately became a viral hit due to its cast members, dialogues, and subject matter regarding adolescence and se*uality.
The winner of several awards, Euphoria’s third season is eagerly awaited, and Sharon Stone had a few things to say about her friend Eric Dane’s role in the series.

At the Nobody 2 premiere, the famous 90s actress spoke to Entertainment Tonight and mentioned that she was by Eric Dane’s side as he auditioned for a role in the famous series.
“Eric and I have been friends for a long time…And I actually was like his support staff when he was trying to get the job on Euphoria. So he would come over to my house and give me gluten-free cookies and we’d sit and discuss it because he really wanted that job,” she states.
Stone also mentions that “it means the world to me that he got the job in time,” referring to Eric Dane’s recent announcement in April that he has been diagnosed with ALS or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
The actor wrote that, “I am grateful to have my loving family by my side as we navigate this next chapter.” He even mentioned that, “I feel fortunate that I am able to continue working and am looking forward to returning to set of Euphoria next week.”
While Eric Dane has played the role of Cal Jacobs in the show since Season 1, Sharon Stone will also be joining the cast of the show in the third season in a mystery role, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Details about Euphoria Season 3
Fans have been eagerly waiting for the next installment of Euphoria, and according to Decider, a Wells Fargo TMT Summit revealed that the show is targeting a 2026 return, as told by JB Perrette, the CEO and President of Global Streaming for HBO/Max.
Further, the third season of the show has started production since February 2025 and shooting is going on in Los Angeles. Zendaya will be black to play her role, and so will Hunter Schafer. Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, and others will also be back.
Interestingly, Barbie Ferreira, who plays the character of Katherine or Kat, will not be returning to the show due to creative differences. She announced the same via Instagram. Even Storm Reid, who plays Gia Bennett, Rue’s younger sister, will not return for Season 3. However, Sharon Stone, Marshawn Lynch, Anna Van Patten, and others will make an entry in the new installment.
