Love Is Blind UK Season 2 will premiere on August 13, 2025. Much-awaited Netflix reality show hosted by Emma Willis and Matt Willis will feature 30 singles. Looking for their potential romantic match, singles will go through various blind dates.

Before the show's premiere, author Michelle Elman talked to show hosts Matt and Emma Willis about the casting process. She shared a video clip via Instagram on August 12, 2025.

While Michelle asked about casting "genuine people," Love Is Blind UK co-host Emma Willis responded:

"You don't want people that are just pretending that they wanna do it just to be on the telly. You...we wanna prove that it works. So we want genuine people to take part, and the minute you take that out, then the show isn't the success story that it is all around the world."

When asked about "impeccable" cast members from the show's debut season, and the "pressure" from the audience, Michelle asked the hosting couple about authenticity.

"I think the main thing the audience worries about is authenticity, right? You want people there actually for love, and I believe they've done it again. Like, what do you think it is about casting people for the right reasons and how they've got it so right, especially this season?" asked Michelle.

Love Is Blind UK co-host Emma responded that because there were "genuine" cast members, the show has been a "genuine" one.

The moment genuine singles are not cast, it no longer stays the same.

"I think the minute you don't cast genuine people, then you don't have a genuine show. You know, this is...it's an experiment, isn't it? To see if it works," said Emma.

She added that they didn't want people who were "pretending." One of the main reasons was that they wanted to "prove" that the experiment works. For that, they need genuine people to participate in the social experiment.

Listening to her, Love Is Blind UK co-host Matt shared his thoughts about the "rigorous" casting process. He recalled talking to the producers about casting. Being a TV show, it also required entertainment. But, he noted that they wanted "people" as the show focuses on "finding love."

"This is a show about finding love, and at the end of it is the wedding, you know. So you want people that are really in it for the right reasons...."

Emma jumped in and noted how there would always be someone who "slips through the net." Matt referred to such participants as "crafty ones."
