AMC+'s (Formerly Disney+'s) British fantasy adventure series, Nautilus, dropped on Amazon Prime on October 25, 2024, in the U.K. After a long wait, on June 29, 2025, Nautilus released on AMC+ in the U.S. Created by James Dormer, this series is inspired by the 1870 novel by Jules Verne- Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea. Which character does Anna Torv play in Nautilus Season 1?
Anna Torv appears in Nautilus Season 1 Episode 9 as Revna, the commander and leader of Valkyrie, a band of female warriors sworn to protect sacred hidden treasures within the Pillars of Halvar. Thus, when Captain Nemo finally reached the Pillars of Halvar, he and his crew were captured by the fierce warriors. He pleads for his survival and even promises to keep their existence a secret. However, the charm does not work, and he's put on a trial. The courtroom-style sequence stands as one of the most intense moments. Revna forces Nemo to confront not just what he wants but why he wants.
What makes Revna such a compelling character is her internal conflict. She isn't a one-note warrior. As revealed in the tense exchange with her second in command, Hilda, Revna is caught between upholding her oath to guard the treasure and the bloodshed it demands. Her possession of the Timur ruby stolen relic, adds another layer of irony to her mission. This moral duality keeps the audience hooked.
In a season filled with dazzling visuals and constant peril, Revna anchors the story with an essence of humanity. Her eventual choice to destroy proves that she is fearsome. Nemo may have escaped, but the lesson Revna delivered still lingers: not all victories are about treasures or survival. Some are about what you're willing to sacrifice.
Love her or fear her, she is a warrior who made Captain Nemo question everything.
