Alien: Earth has opened up a new chapter in the Alien franchise. Not only does the FX series expand the lore of the sci-fi saga, but it also introduces new characters, concepts, and themes.

One character in the show that has intrigued the audience is Morrow, played by Babou Ceesay. Since the character had not been mentioned in the films, the audience is left wondering who Morrow in Alien: Earth is.

Morrow is a cyborg who works as the security officer on the USCSS Maginot, a ship owned by the powerful Weyland-Yutani Corporation. If you are fascinated with the character, here are all the details about Morrow.

Morrow is a cyborg in Alien: Earth

Morrow is a cyborg in Alien: Earth, which means he is part human and part machine. His body has been upgraded with cybernetic parts that give him extra strength, long life, and weapons built into his arms. However, cyborgs like him are considered outdated compared to modern synthetics.

The USCSS Maginot, on which Morrow works as the security officer, leaves Earth in 2055 for a long space mission. It returns to Earth in 2120, after 65 years. Because of the time gap, everyone Morrow once knew has died, and he returns to a world where he does not belong.

While his machine parts keep him alive, they can not erase his memories or the knowledge that he is completely alone in life. However, he remains loyal to Weyland-Yutani. His job is to protect the alien creatures on the ship, no matter what happens to the crew. He even prioritizes the company’s goals over human life.

When the mission goes wrong, Morrow is the only one left alive. A Xenomorph outbreak kills almost the entire crew, and instead of helping others, Morrow locks himself in the MU/TH/UR control room. He refuses to let desperate crew members in, showing again that his orders are more important to him than people.

Morrow is one of the most complex characters in Alien: Earth. On one hand, he is a survivor who manages to live through an event that kills everyone else on his ship. On the other hand, his blind loyalty to Weyland-Yutani makes him seem cold and distant. While he is willing to sacrifice anyone to protect the company’s interests, being one of the last cyborgs makes him a tragic hero.

What Babou Ceesay has said about Morrow

Before Alien: Earth premiered, actor Babou Ceesay had an interview with ComicBook, where he talked about what to expect from his character. The actor revealed that Morrow is not the most technologically advanced person, but he has a lot of clarity, which makes him ruthless:

“So he’s a cyborg. The best way I can describe him, he’s like an iPhone 1 in a world of iPhone 20s. But what he does have is an unbelievable clarity in terms of what he wants to do and a determination. He’s ruthless for that reason.”

New episodes of Alien: Earth are released on FX on Hulu on Tuesdays.
