Phoebe already had plans with Joey and didn’t want to ditch him, so she went to a restaurant with him, quickly wrapped up their monthly dinner date, and went to meet David. David wanted to tell Phoebe that he loved her but in his opinion, it would make it more difficult for him to say goodbye to her before leaving for Minsk again. They had an emotional goodbye.
