Born on June 1st, 1937, Morgan Freeman is an American actor, producer, and narrator who has been in the industry for over 50 years. Freeman made his debut in 1964 with a role in the film The Pawnbroker and he made his stage debut in the same year as well. However, it wasn’t until 1987 that he made his breakthrough with Street Smart, a film that also earned him his first Academy Award nomination.
That was just the first of many as throughout his career, Freeman has been nominated five times for an Academy Award, winning it once. The American actor also won a Golden Globe, a Screen Actors Guild award, and several other awards. He has also been nominated for several Primetime Emmy Awards and a Tony for various stage productions.
