Bob Dylan has returned to the recording studio in the middle of his summer run with Willie Nelson's Outlaw Music Festival Tour.
Bob Dylan spent two days, August 5 and 6, 2025, at White Lake Studios in Colonie, New York, with members of his band, according to a press release from the studio on Friday. The visit came before his performance at the Darien Lake Amphitheater in Buffalo, New York, which was scheduled for August 8.
However, no details have been shared yet about what Bob Dylan might have recorded during the session.
Dylan's last album of original songs was Rough and Rowdy Ways, and it was officially released in 2020. The record was his first collection of new material since Tempest (2012).
The official press release from the studio read:
"Bob Dylan Visits White Lake Studios. Colonie, NY - August 5-6, 2025. Legendary music icon Bob Dylan, along with members of his band, spent two days this week at White Lake Studios in Colonie, New York. The studio team had been preparing for the visit in advance and worked diligently to ensure discretion and privacy throughout the sessions."
The press release added:
"We want every artist and guest to feel relaxed and at home," said David Bourgeois, CEO of White Lake Studios. "We have had the privilege of working with many remarkable talents over the years, but this visit was truly special. I'm incredibly proud of our team." Details of Dylan's two-day visit were not publicly disclosed."
Bob Dylan's two-day studio visit took place amidst the Outlaw Music Festival Tour, which began in May 2025. It is set to run until September 19, 2025. This year's bill features Nelson & Family, Turnpike Troubadours, The Red Clay Strays, and Waylon Payne at various stops, per Jambands.

Bob Dylan recently announced the UK and Ireland leg of his Rough and Rowdy Ways tour for November. The tour originally began in 2021, and it maintains his no-phones, no-video policy at shows.
