On Marie Jones' LinkedIn, she stated that she was Kelly Clarkson’s former assistant from 2016 to 2020. Clarkson married Brandon Blackstock in 2013 and, later, filed for a divorce in 2020.

By June 2020, Marie Jones had transitioned into the executive assistant role for V Bar B Cartle Co., a ranch owned by Blackstock in Montana. According to Page Six, Marie Jones was previously married to drummer Greg Goode LaPoint, and the couple celebrated their first marriage anniversary on Instagram in September 2021 via a carousel of photos.
The news outlet further reported that while details of the duo’s marriage remain unclear, LaPoint seems to have moved on to another woman, Arika Vanessa. The duo has reportedly been dating since February.
